How we use personal information

Last updated: September 2026

Flowers by Edi respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, who we may share it with and your rights.

1. Who we are

Flowers by Edi is based in Peterborough, United Kingdom, and is the controller of the personal information described here.

Email: flowersbyedi@gmail.com
Telephone / WhatsApp: 07464 565408

2. Information we may collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect your name; billing and delivery address; email address; telephone number; recipient details; order and product details; delivery or collection information; gift messages; enquiries sent by email, contact form, telephone, WhatsApp or social media; marketing preferences; payment status and transaction references; and technical website-use information where collected through cookies or analytics.

We do not normally receive or store complete card details. Online payments are processed by the relevant secure payment provider.

3. How we obtain your information

We may receive information directly from you; through our website; by telephone, email or WhatsApp; through Facebook or Instagram; through Florist Touch; and through payment processors where necessary to confirm a transaction. A customer may also provide information about a flower recipient and should provide only what is reasonably necessary.

4. Why we use your information

We use personal information to process and fulfil orders; communicate with customers; deliver gifts to recipients; maintain business and financial records; improve services and our website; and, where permitted, send marketing.

5. Our lawful bases

Depending on the use, processing may be necessary to perform a contract or take requested pre-contract steps; comply with a legal obligation; support legitimate business interests not overridden by your rights; or be based on consent. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

6. Who we may share information with

We do not sell personal information. Where necessary, information may be shared with Florist Touch; payment processors such as Stripe; delivery or logistics providers; website hosting, email and IT providers; analytics or website-service providers; accountants, professional advisers or insurers; and authorities where required by law. We provide only information reasonably necessary for the relevant service.

7. International transfers

Some technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, relevant providers are expected to use safeguards recognised by UK data-protection law.

8. How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary and to meet legal, accounting and business requirements. Order and transaction records may normally be retained for up to six years. General enquiries may be deleted sooner. Marketing information is normally retained until you unsubscribe, withdraw consent or it is no longer relevant.

9. Security

We take reasonable organisational and technical steps to protect information against accidental loss, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. Specialist third parties provide website and payment services with their own security arrangements. No internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

10. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to request a copy of information; correct inaccuracies; request deletion or restriction; object to certain processing; request transfer of certain information; and withdraw consent. Contact flowersbyedi@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity.

11. Marketing

We will not send electronic marketing where consent or another lawful basis is required unless legal requirements have been met. You can unsubscribe at any time. This does not prevent necessary service messages about an order.

Cookies and further information

12. Cookies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies for maintaining a basket, processing checkout, security, remembering preferences, understanding website usage and enabling third-party functionality. Where consent is legally required for non-essential technologies, they should not be activated until the visitor has made the appropriate choice.

13. Third-party websites and social media

Our website may link to Facebook, Instagram or other third-party websites. Those services operate under their own privacy policies, and Flowers by Edi is not responsible for how independent third parties process information on their platforms.

14. Children's information

Our website and online ordering service are not specifically directed at children. We do not intentionally collect children's personal information unless reasonably necessary and lawful in connection with an order or enquiry.

15. Complaints

If you have concerns about how we use personal information, please contact us first so we can investigate. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data-protection regulator.

16. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this policy when our practices, suppliers or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on this website with its revision date.
